As of writing, Intel's chipsets are still quite hard to understand. This is because of their complicated names.

These include the Core i7 13700 K, Core i5, 14th Generation Intel Core i3Core, etc.

For those who are not using Intels's processor names and numbers guide, understanding these complicated chip names will be difficult.

This is why Intel decided to rebrand its processor tiers. But, when will the changes happen?

Intel's Biggest Rebranding

According to ZDNet's latest report, Intel's rebranding aims to achieve modernization in a simple way.

The computer component maker explained that this effort would no longer place generational messaging before its chipset names.

Aside from this, Intel's rebranding will also remove the "i" in front of chipset tiers; it will start with the Meteor Lake generation and other next-gen computer chips.

To give you more idea of how the rebranding will play out, here's an example.

Instead of using the "14th Gen Intel Core i3" name, Intel will replace it with "Intel Core 3." Comparing it with existing Intel chipset names is easier to understand.

The tech giant company plans to start implementing its rebranding changes in the second half of 2023. Intel explained that its latest business changes reflect the significant shit it's conducting in design and architecture.

Intel Meteor Lake Release Date

Intel announced its rebranding as it's preparing to launch the Meteor Lake processors.

As of writing, the new chipsets' exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

But, since the tech firm plans to implement the name and tier changes in the 2023's 2nd-half, then there's a chance that the Meteor Lake processors could be released on this date.

The upcoming Intel Meteor Lake is a big deal for the company since its first processor will rely on components fabbed on TSMC's process nodes.
