McGregor Denies Sexual Assault Accusation Amid NBA Game
According to ESPN, a woman accused the UFC star of sexually assaulting her during Game 4 of the Finals on Friday, June 16. The Miami Police Department spokesperson assures everyone that its special victims unit is already investigating the report, which allegedly accused McGregor of sexual assault.
The victim reportedly accused the NBA security and Miami Heat of aiding the UFC fighter during the incident. She claims that the security separated her from her friend, enabling McGregor to force her to go inside the bathroom.
The Heat, NBA, and UFC all acknowledged the sexual assault accusations. However, the Miami Heat says they "will withhold further comment" until the investigation concludes.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) addressed the accusation against McGregor in its recent statement. The organization states that it is "aware of the recent allegations" against one of its superstar fighters.
For now, UFC says that it "will continue to gather additional information regarding the incident." UFC will await the conclusion of the legal process before issuing any further statements. McGregor, via his lawyer, attorney Barbara Llanes, denied the sexual assault allegations. She adds that the UFC superstar "will not be intimidated."
ESPN stresses that it is not the first instance the mixed martial arts fighter has faced sexual assault accusations. He reportedly faced four previous allegations. All of them are outside the United States, and one has already been dropped.
