A man has been arrested after two persons were injured in a knife attack at the Central Middlesex Hospital in London Wednesday afternoon (June 21). The Metropolitan Police said they had arrested the man, finding him with "self-inflicted" injuries
The hospital was temporarily locked down, and its staff evacuated, but it has since been reopened with heightened police presence to carry out searches.
One witness described how patients and visitors were locked in a nurses' room while police dealt with the man.
Police added it was satisfied no one else was being sought and the stabbings were not being treated as terror-related. Nevertheless, one of the two victims was left in a life-threatening condition.
The London Ambulance Service stated it sent a quick response team in a fast-response car to the scene.

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust said the building was locked down as a "precautionary measure." While the hospital has reopened, it advised visitors to "reschedule" their appointment at another time or date.
"The police have the situation very much under control," Labour MP for Brent Central Dawn Butler told the BBC. "The police have the situation very much under control." She also expressed gratitude to the police for their quick response.
