Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have declared their seriousness in exchanging blows at each other in the UFC octagon, and the mixed martial arts (MMA) entertainment firm is interested in letting patrons pay to view the match.
UFC president Dana White told TMZ Sports Thursday (June 23) he has spoken with both tech titans about their social media beef this week, with the Meta chief, who owns Facebook and Instagram, accepting a "cage match" challenge against Musk on Twitter.
"Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, 'Is [Elon] serious?'" he said. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO told White he was "dead serious" in response.
Musk-Zuckerberg Fight Set to be Largest-Grossing PPV in History
White added he was in the "early stages" of planning how the fight would become but has not hesitated to hype the event as it would generate revenues for the UFC. He also argued the fight would be the "biggest" ever in world history.
"It would break all pay-per-view records," he predicted.
While a standard UFC pay-per-view (PPV) costs $80, White stated viewers would be charged $100 for the fight.
The previous biggest PPV ever was the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather boxing match in 2017, which White estimated to cost $600 million in revenue. White predicts the Musk-Zuckerberg fight would triple the revenue of the McGregor-Mayweather match. "There's no limit on what this thing can make," he added.
UFC's White Suggests Tech Bosses Fight for Charity
While both Musk and Zuckerberg have historically been rivals, White suggested the two social media moguls battle it out in the octagon for a charitable organization of their choice.
White has declined to speculate about when the fight would take place, but he said he was ready to make it happen.
"If [Musk and Zuckerberg] are serious, I make fights that people want to see," he said. "That's what I do for a living."
