American rock singer Robert James Ritchie, most known by his screen name Kid Rock, was previously known for his criticism of Dylan Mulvaney's partnership with Bud Light.

Ritchie made a viral video last May in the wake of the news, where he shot at bottles, cases, and cans of Bud Light using a Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun.

"F*** Bud Light and f*** Anheuser-Busch!" he said after emptying his gun on the merchandise.

While his video kicked off a nationwide boycott of the beer brand, Kid Rock did not specify whether or not he would pull Bud Light out of his restaurant. Nonetheless, Anheuser-Busch suffered terrible revenue losses resulting in the brand being dethroned as king of American beers.

Audiences and fans of Ritchie also expressed their preference for any beer other than Bud Light.

Kid Rock's Branding Dissonance?

Yet, despite the utter displeasure for Bud Light, his restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee was still selling it, according to Newsweek.

The menu listing for the restaurant still listed Bud Light as a domestic beer option. A Twitter version of the listing also circulated, which prompted users on the site to question why Bud Light was still in the bar.

"Are you really selling [Bud Light] again?" asked one user. "Nice that you shot up the [Bud Light]... but [it's] still in your bar," wondered another.

One customer also told the publication a waitress told him the actual boycott was only temporary.

"I mentioned it to the waitress," the customer told Newsweek. "She said they actually stopped selling it for a week right after [Kid Rock's video], then started selling it again."

Kid Rock or the Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock 'N' Roll Steakhouse has yet to comment on the matter.
