According to BBC News, Tom Holland said that he felt "enslaved" when he was addicted to alcohol.

"I just sort of said to myself, like, 'Why? Why am I enslaved to this drink? Why am I so obsessed by the idea of having this drink?'" said the Hollywood actor.

Tom said that his journey to end his alcohol addiction began in December (Chrismas) 2022.
He shared that when he decided to go dry in January, all he could think about was drinking. This scared the actor because his addiction seems to get worst.

Because of this, he decided to extend his no-drinking rule for another month. However, he was struggling to continue his goal.

"I felt like I couldn't be social. I felt like I couldn't go to the pub and have a lime soda. I couldn't go out for dinner. I was really, really struggling," said the celebrity.

Despite his hardships, Tom Holland decided to target six months without drinking. With his efforts, he was able to achieve his goal on his birthday last June 1.

The Marvel actor said that after getting sober, his sleeping pattern became better. He was even able to handle problems more efficiently.
