Kentucky police successfully rescued a woman in Louisville who was found chained around her neck to the house floor before arresting the suspect allegedly planning to kill her.

Law enforcement personnel released body camera footage of the rescue that showed the dramatic incident following reports from neighbors who said they heard a woman scream. The videos, which were taken on Aug. 16, involved two officers circling a two-story house in the 1700 block of Bolling Avenue to try to get inside.

However, the two officers quickly discovered that all the doors and windows of the house's first floor were completely barricaded and nearly impenetrable. Neighbors quickly lent the law enforcement personnel a ladder to try and get into the house via a shattered window on the second floor.

After climbing inside the home, police officers discovered a woman chained around her neck to the floor. As per Yahoo News, the female had allegedly been crying for help as she feared that her life was in danger.

Upon making a quick search of the second-floor room, law enforcement found a hatchet and used it to chop the end of the chain bolted to the floor. After police freed the woman, she was safely brought to the outside, where firefighters used bolt cutters to remove the chain around her neck.

Officials said a suspect was quickly arrested two days after police officers rescued the woman from the house. The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Moises May, charged with kidnapping, two counts of assault, and terroristic threatening.

Additionally, authorities charged the suspect with intimidating a participant in the legal process, wanton endangerment, and harassment. Later, police also identified the victim as Joanna Wilson, who spoke to the station about the incident.

She argued that the suspect was her husband, with whom she has a child, and that he turned physical following an argument. According to the New York Post, may allegedly held Wilson down in the bathroom and chopped off her hair with a machete.

Afterward, Wilson left their home that night and only returned the day after to try and collect her belongings before the suspect forced her inside a deadbolted room. May allegedly told his wife, "You're gonna get it tonight. I told you the next time you leave and don't come home, I'd kill you."

The man is believed to have made the threats after he forced the woman to strip in front of him and slapped her. The suspect stormed out of the house after placing the chain on Wilson and taking her mobile phone so she could not call for help.

In the footage of the rescue, Wilson could be heard apologizing to the officer who is rescuing her because the key to the lock on her neck was in May's possession. Following the suspect's arrest, his bond was set at $100,000, and he has been scheduled to reappear in court on Aug. 28, said the Independent.
