According to the First Post's latest report, the latest hack against the Delhi police's website happened 24 hours after the first cyberattack.

The serious website breach was allegedly done by Pakistan-backed hackers of the hacking group called Team Insane PK.

This is based on the investigation conducted by the Falcon Feeds IO, a trusted threat intelligence platform. The cybersecurity agency said that Team Insane PK is a notorious hacking group located in Pakistan.

The cybercrime gang gained notoriety after conducting multiple successful cyberattacks against business websites and government pages in India.

The Falcon Feeds IO described the Pakistan-based hacking group as a religious hacktivist group targeting India's cyberspace since February.

The threat intelligence platform added that the Team Insane PK usually relies on DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service), as well as defacement cyberattacks.

For those unfamiliar with DDoS, it is a hacking technique that overwhelms a server with an exceptionally high volume of internet traffic.

This cyberattack allowed the Pakistani hacking group to disrupt access to the Delhi police website, preventing users from accessing it. Affected visitors said they received the error message "The service is unavailable."

Other Indian Governmental Websites Also Hacked

Aside from the Delhi police, Times Now reported that other governmental websites in India have also been hacked.

These cyberattacks against the following governmental pages are believed to be conducted by Pakistani and Indonesian hackers:

  • G20 official website by the Government of India
  • Delhi Transport System
  • Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission
  • Health and Family Welfare, Delhi
  • Hansraj College, Delhi University
  • LT Governor of Delhi
  • Aam Aadmi Party
  • National Capital Region
  • Services Department of Delhi
  • Directorate of Prosecution

Since Pakistani are against the G20 Summit, many critics believe the cyberattacks are linked to the multilateral event.

Recently, Pakistani authorities explained that India could take advantage of the G20 Summit to downplay the India-Pakistan conflict over Kashmir.

They added that Indian officials could use the multilateral event to justify the country's control over the disputed region.
