U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posted an X (formerly known as Twitter) announcement to confirm their decision to ban American Bullies in the United Kingdom.

"It's clear the American XL Bully dog is a danger to our communities," said the British leader.

Sunak added that he ordered urgent work to define and ban American Bullies so that they can protect U.K. residents from violent animal attacks.

The prime minister confirmed his decision on Friday, Sept. 5. Sunak's video already garnered over 5 million views on X.

However, many netizens were disappointed to know that the United Kingdom is planning to ban these modern-breed canines.

"It's dog racism. Plain and simple. You see the shape of a dog and jump to conclusions irrespective of the individual dog's behavior," said a netizen in the comment section.

He added that the action of Rishi Sunak is not the approach that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) suggests.

The X user explained that if Sunak is not ready to listen to experts' suggestions, then the problem with animal attacks will only continue.

"The breed is not the problem. What we need is responsible ownership," added the netizen.

ITV reported that Sunak's effort to push a ban against American Bullies was confirmed after the recent XL Bully attack, which killed a man.

However, Downing Street officials clarified that the order of the prime minister to outlaw these dogs had already begun before the latest incident.

Previously, BBC News reported that a man identified as Ian Price died after two American Bullies attacked him. The violent animal attack happened in Stonnall, near Walsall Staffordshire.

The 52-year-old British man was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was left in critical condition due to serious multiple injuries.

Sadly, Price was later confirmed dead. Deadly animal attacks currently create debates among people regarding big dogs, such as the American Bully.

Dog Breed Info confirmed that American Bullies are "gentle and loving toward" people. Unfortunately, there are really since instances when these dogs attack humans for some reason.

Right now, the U.K. is still trying to ban American Bullies. If Sunak still pushes this, it would take a lot of time since the American XL Bully is not legally recognized as a dog breed, making it hard for the government to outlaw the canine.
