Tesla Giga Berlin is accused of having safety and health issues. Authorities claim that the EV maker's factory in Germany has inadequate health and safety provisions.
However, the automaker denies all these accusations despite local officials providing reports proving work-related accidents at the EV factory.
Tesla Giga Berlin Work Accident Accusations Denied by EV Maker
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, Tesla rejected the claims made by a German union and recent media news. The EV maker reiterated that ensuring the safety and well-being of its employees is still one of their top priorities.
However, this is not what German media discovered after it cited documents from local authorities in Brandenburg. According to Reuters, local authority documents revealed a high number of work-related accidents.
These reports stated that some of these incidents forced Tesla employees to take at least three days of sick leave. Aside from this, the documents also provided detailed information about work-related accidents.
Based on these reports, some serious injuries include amputated limbs, burns, and hydrochloric acid exposure. But, Tesla claimed that its workers receive safety training and are always provided with protected gear, as reported by Investing.Com.
The giant automaker also argued that local authorities regularly check if Giga Berlin follows the needed safety measures, seemingly questioning the credibility of the work-related accident reports.

Tesla Giga Berlin Faces Scrutiny
As of writing, Tesla is under scrutiny because of the work safety issue allegations against its Gigafactory in Berlin. This can be seen in the rising members of the German union IG Metall.
The worker union said that its membership numbers are continuously rising as more Tesla employees become concerned over safety, health, and overworking issues.
On Monday, Oct. 9, twelve Tesla workers at Giga Berlin were interviewed. Four of them claim that they are satisfied with the working conditions at the EV facility.
However, eight of these employees said that the pressure for fast production was too high. Some of them also revealed the accidents happening inside Giga Berlin, as well as other issues, such as overtime pay problems.
If the work issue allegations are really true, then Elon Musk needs to do something about it to make Giga Berlin safer, especially since the factory is estimated to have over 11,000 workers.
