The son of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, who is 20 years old, recently revealed that he was struggling with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol during the period when his father was hospitalized for pancreatitis in June 2022.

Landon, who has always struggled with OCD, ADHD, and anxiety, shared that his drinking habit caused him to disconnect from his body, resulting in an extremely distressing experience, as per E! News.

Landon Barker's Battle with Alcohol

Landon described how his habit of drinking excessively began. He admitted, "It kind of started with I would drink, and then the day after, I would disassociate bad, and that's how my habit of drinking a lot started."

For him, alcohol became a quick fix, providing temporary relief from the disassociation he experienced. This vicious cycle escalated rapidly. "It was like, oh, I'd feel better the second I had a drink, and so yeah, it kind of just all started, and it all kicked up fast."

Landon Barker continued abusing alcohol for months until he faced a turning point in October 2022. In October of that year, he suffered a severe concussion that prevented him from continuing drinking.

The trauma forced him to confront the reality of his struggles. "When I got my concussion, I kind of just had to deal with it, and I would just, I don't know, I just hated life for three or four months," he recalled.

Landon's struggles extended beyond his physical injuries. He experienced debilitating panic attacks, which led him to frequent hospital visits. The derealization he had been grappling with became even more pronounced during this difficult period, adding to his mental health challenges.

The disconnection from reality that he felt was described as "feeling like I was in a video game" and watching his life from a distance. Despite these challenges, Landon Barker shared his story with the world, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about mental health issues, including suicide, according to Mail Online.

Landon Barker's Recovery

Landon's journey toward recovery involved a focus on therapy and physical activity, helping him to regain control over his life. He mentioned that he had hesitated to use medication due to concerns about dependency, but he found solace and improvement in alternative methods.

In addition to his struggles, Landon opened up about his fear of flying, which he shares with his famous father, Travis Barker. He expressed gratitude for the support he receives from his half-sister, Atiana De La Hoya, who comforts him during flights.

Despite his fear, Landon aspires to collaborate with his younger sister, Alabama Luella Barker, to combine her singing talents with his musical pursuits.

Landon's dedication to his music career is evident as he recently released a music video for his single 'Friends With Your Ex,' featuring Charli D'Amelio and his father, Travis Barker, on the drums. He has also been signed to his father's Elektra Imprint label, DTA Records, proving his commitment to following in his father's footsteps.

The young artist is looking forward to a new addition to the family, as his stepmother, Kourtney Kardashian, is due to give birth in late October or early November. Landon expressed his appreciation for Kourtney's support and positive impact on the family.

In sharing his story, Landon Barker has demonstrated that talking openly about mental health challenges is crucial. His journey highlights the importance of self-awareness, seeking help, and finding healthy ways to cope with difficult times.

Landon's resilience and commitment to recovery serve as an inspiring example to others facing similar struggles, Page Six Reported.
