There's a job opening at the Palace. According to the Daily Mail, Kate Middleton and Prince William want to hire a full-time royal nanny for Prince George. For a while the new parents were handling most of the responsibilities themselves but since the Duchess is preparing for a royal tour of Australia and New Zealand, she's going to need some extra help.
A source told the British newspaper, that 71-year-old caregiver Jessie Webb was helping the new parents on a part-time basis but last month told them she would be leaving. Reportedly Webb, who was also the nanny for Prince William when he was a child, had come out of retirement shortly after the royal baby was born to offer her services.
However, she told them that she would only stay onboard for about three months. Now, the hunt is on for her replacement. It's been said that Middleton and Prince William don't want just any nanny but are looking for someone who is "more educated and qualified," E! News reports.
"It's becoming more like America, with parents wanting their children coached for prep school and entrance exams and then wanting nannies to help academically with homework. Gone are the days of Mary Poppins," Rosemary Newton, a partner at Nannies of St. James told the Daily Mail.
However, the royal couple won't be using Nannies of St. James for their nanny search even though the company is known for providing elite sitters to wealthy families. According to the Daily Mail, the company dealt with a financial crisis a few years ago. Now, they operate as a private firm but Kensington Palace is still staying clear.
"We do not discuss persona arraignments, but we are not using Nannies of St. James at present, nor do we plan to," a palace spokesperson said.
