According to the Palestinian health ministry, the drone strikes during an Israeli raid killed six Palestinians in the West Bank City of Tulkarm on Wednesday.
The West Bank violence has been one of the latest examples of rising violence since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
Israeli Raid Kills 6 Palestinians
The Israeli military claimed that during a counterterrorism operation, militants attacked its forces and tossed explosives at them. They also stated that an Israeli air force aircraft struck the attackers.
The confrontation occurred in the Nour Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm, a flashpoint city on one of the main crossing points into the West Bank.
According to the witnesses, the six young men killed in the strike were sitting together in the early morning hours but were not involved in fighting with the Israeli military.
"We heard the sound, and the screaming, our house is nearby so we came out to see," Izzaldin Assaili, a resident, said.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the young men were aged between 17 and 29. Another man died of wounds from a clash last month.
Since the October 7 attack by Hamas gunmen, the West Bank has been facing the highest levels of unrest. However, the dispute escalated when Israel launched a ground invasion of Gaza.
West Bank Violence
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Israeli military and settlers killed hundreds of Palestinians over the past weeks. Security forces arrested thousands of people with repeated confrontations between troops and Palestinian protesters.
The eight-year-old Adam al-Ghoul and Basel Abu al-Wafa from Jenin refugee camp died, and another 2,955 people were injured. The raids on Palestinian refugee camps, villages, and towns have become even more frequent, even in broad daylight.
Drones and snipers were used to target young people who threw stones, bystanders, and anyone who challenged the military's actions.
The medical teams in the West Bank were also blocked from treating the injured. According to the World Health Organization, there were 229 attacks on healthcare between October 7 and November 28.
The attacks included obstructing ambulances, detaining and using force against healthcare personnel, and conducting militarised searches.
On November 18, the Balata refugee camp was targeted by an airstrike, and Israeli armored vehicles raided its narrow streets. The raid caused heavy damage to the roads and infrastructure in the camp.
In Jenin camp earlier this year, Israel damaged water pipes, electricity, roads, and cars.
