Israeli Warplanes Continue to Rock Refugee Camps

Heavy strikes continued to rock central and southern Gaza overnight and into Wednesday after Israel began broadening its offensive against Hamas militants to areas that the IDF had previously told Palestinians to seek in southern

Heavy bombing was reported in the Bureji refugee camp in central Gaza, in the city of Khan Younis, and in the southern town of Rafah. These are areas where tens of thousands of Palestinians have sought solace as northern Gaza was turned to rubble by Israeli fighter planes.

"It was a night of hell. We haven't seen such bombing since the start of the war," said Rami Abu Mosab, speaking from the Bureij camp, where he has been sheltering since fleeing his home in northern Gaza.

What Is The Bureji Camp?

The Bureji camp was created to house refugees in 1948, Gazans who had been displaced when the modern state of Israel was created..With large swaths of northern Gaza deemed unlivable, Palestinians believe a similar fate with eventually befall Khan Younis, which is where Israeli group forces launched operations in early December.

Six Palestinians were killed in the West Bank during an overnight raid in the Nur Shams refugee camp, reported the Palestinian Health Ministry. A total of 300 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the war began.
