Twin brothers Ezra and Ezekiel Humphrey from New Jersey were born in a different year at Virtua Voorhees Hospital during New Year's Day.
The New Year's babies entered the world forty minutes apart, one before midnight and one after.
New Jersey Twins Born on Different Year
Ezra's birth time was 11:48 pm on New Year's Eve in 2023, weighing 6 pounds and 18 ¾ inches long. At 12:28 am, his younger brother Ezekiel was born on January 1, 2024, measuring 17 ½ inches in length and weighing 4 pounds, 15 ounces.
The hospital reported that the twin's parents, Eve and Billy, were excited that their boys were healthy and had a unique birthday story.
"It feels like paperwork is gonna be the most challenging. Tell somebody you have twins, and they wanna write down the same date, but no, they're born on different days and different years, too," Billy said.
The twin brothers were as different as twins could be. They were fraternal, so they looked different.
Billy explained one of his boys has a wider nose bridge.
The parents shared that their sons already have their own personalities. However, their biggest difference was their birth date.
Eve said that Ezra sleeps a lot while Ezekiel does not stop moving. She noted that Ezekiel looked more curious because he was moving around and that someone could tell their different personalities.
"I think it's going to be hard for them to convince people. They're going to ask when's your birthday. One's going to say December. One's going to say January," she added. She joked that people might tell the twins they were lying.
Even the nurses at the hospital were shocked by the twins' situation. Voorhees registered nurse Sandy Pawlowski described the situation as odd and said they have many twins born, but the differences in the time frame and the years were unique and special.

Humphrey's Unique Family
The uniqueness of the circumstance does not end there. Ezra and his father, who was also born on New Year's Eve, have the same birthday.
Hezekiah, the older brother of the Humphrey siblings, was excited to meet his new baby brothers. He was also getting ready to celebrate his third birthday on January 3.
Billy said that in four days, they have four birthdays to celebrate, including him and the three kids. Eve's birth month was also in December.
He continued that in 30 days, they would celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas, which would be like a festival.
Billy, a pastor, and Eve, a biology professor, followed the biblical pattern of naming their newborn sons. They claimed that Ezra and Ezekiel completed their family and said they did not plan to try for a baby girl.
