‘The Walking’ Season 4: Newbie Josh McDermitt Teases Daryl Dixon Dies in Episode 12, Was he Joking?

"The Walking Dead" newbie Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene, was answering fan questions on Twitter when the conversation switched to Daryl Dixon and his fate on the show. One fan asked who was going to die in this Sunday's Mar. 2 episode.

McDermitt's response: "Definitely Darryl #oops."

We believe he might have been joking but he did give us a little scare. Some fans pointed out that he can't joke like about the beloved character dying, it's just too painful to think about. We agree. Could "The Walking Dead" even continue without him? Hopefully we never find out.

However, there have been rumors that "one of the main cast members who was not killed in the comic book series" was going to die this season, Comicbook.com reports.

There was some speculation that it could be Daryl who's killed off but he never existed in the comics. That leaves a number of possibilities and so far there hasn't been any more chatter about that rumor.

As far as we know, Daryl is alive in Episode 12. There have been several sneak peek videos for episode released online. As fans know, Daryl has been traveling with Beth and it seems like the two have been having a difficult time since the prison was attacked. So far they have not met up with any of the other survivors.

In one clip, Daryl is seen hunting for food but it looks like he's off his game and is having a difficult time catching dinner. He's clearly frustrated but eventually catches a snake the two can eat. Meanwhile, Beth is setting up a safe camp in the middle of the woods.

In another clip, the two approach an abandoned house only to discover walkers inside. Daryl is seen fighting off the undead. The clip ends with Beth hiding in what could be a closet with no Daryl in sight.

In a third clip, the two come running out of the woods. Beth sees a car and desperately tries to start it but can't. With a horde of walkers approaching, the two hide in the trunk of the car.

Would you continue watching "The Walking Dead" if Daryl is killed?
