Prince William was scheduled to return to public engagements following the cancer diagnosis of his father, King Charles III.
The Prince of Wales has been out of action in the past few weeks to take care of his wife, Princess Catherine after her own hospital stay for a planned abdominal surgery.
Sources close to the House of Windsor told The Times that the heir to the British throne intended to return to public duties on Wednesday (Feb. 7) to "reassure the public" that it was business as usual for the royal family.
Among his scheduled duties include handing out honors at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle in the morning and a fundraising gala for the London Air Ambulance in the evening.
Prince Harry Scheduled to Visit Charles
Meanwhile, the BBC reported that William's younger brother, Prince Harry, would cross the pond to visit Charles "in the coming days" after Buckingham Palace announced the king's cancer diagnosis.
A representative for the Duke of Sussex said that he had spoken to his father about the diagnosis.
It could be remembered that Harry and his wife Meghan stepped down from royal duties and moved to the US in 2020. The duchess would remain at their home with their two children, the spokesperson added.
