Former NBA player Bryn Forbes, known for his tenure with the San Antonio Spurs, has found himself in legal trouble once again.
The 30-year-old athlete was arrested on Tuesday morning in Bexar County, Texas, on a charge related to family violence, specifically assaulting a family member by choking or strangulation, categorized as a third-degree felony, according to records from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
The incident leading to Forbes' arrest transpired following a distress call received by the San Antonio police at 2:17 a.m. on Monday.
Allegedly, Forbes assaulted a 30-year-old woman described as his "ex-significant other." Initial reports suggest Forbes physically assaulted her, including choking or strangulation, before she managed to break free and alert the authorities.
Per police records, Forbes visited the apartment of the woman, who is the mother of their children, and forcefully banged on the window while she was asleep.
Authorities stated that upon her opening the door, Forbes physically assaulted her, initiating a violent altercation by hitting her and subsequently attempting to choke her. Police noted that the woman required medical attention following the incident.
The victim revealed that she and Forbes have had an intermittent relationship spanning the past 13 years.
Forbes attempted to evade law enforcement after the altercation, but he was apprehended later Tuesday morning. He was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
As of Tuesday afternoon, he remained in custody, and it remains unclear whether Forbes has sought legal representation.
This isn't the first instance of legal trouble for the former NBA player. In February 2023, he was arrested on suspicion of assault with bodily injury, a misdemeanor, following an altercation with a female companion.
However, those charges were later dismissed after Forbes completed a pretrial diversion program.

Bryn Forbes' journey to the NBA was marked by his notable college career, which spanned both Cleveland State and Michigan State University. Despite going undrafted, he defied the odds to secure a spot in the league, spending his formative years with the San Antonio Spurs (2016-2020).
Following his stint with the Spurs, Forbes embarked on a journey across several NBA teams. In 2021, he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. where he clinched an NBA title. Subsequently, he made a return to the Spurs for the following season before being traded to the Denver Nuggets.
Most recently, he donned the jersey of the Minnesota Timberwolves during the preceding NBA season, where he played 25 games. However, his contract with the Timberwolves was abruptly terminated on February 9, leaving him without a team for the current season.
Forbes played a total of seven seasons in the NBA.
