Taylor Swift's zoo visit in Australia has been condemned by PETA, making the power couple the latest target of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
When photos of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spread online, many people said that the celebrities were pretty cute and all since they were visiting the zoo.
They decided to go on a date at a Sydney zoo during their Eras Tour stop in Australia. While others see this as a sweet and simple date, PETA said that the power couple should visit a "true sanctuary" instead.
Taylor Swift's Zoo Visit Condemned by PETA
PETA called out Taylor Swift and his NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce after knowing that America's hottest couple visited a Sydney zoo.
"While we understand all too well the appeal of seeing Australia's wildlife, PETA hopes that next time Taylor and Travis want to see wild animals, they'll spend their time and money at a true sanctuary," said PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Welfare Debbie Metzler.
According to Fox News, Metzler referenced Taylor Swift's "All Too Well" song in her statement, using the singer's own song against her.
Aside from visiting the zoo, another thing that triggered PETA was the photos of Taylor and Travis feeding a young kangaroo during their visit.
The non-profit organization explained that sanctuaries are preferred by animal safety organizations over zoos because they don't allow visitors to feed or touch animals.
TMZ reported that the next time that the couple decided to go visit animals, they would take PETA's suggestions- if they truly care what the organization thinks and if they are concerned about animals' welfare.

Die-Hard Swifties To the Rescue!
Whenever Taylor Swift gets involved in issues, die-hard Swifties are always there to defend their idols; even if critics have a point.
On X (formerly called Twitter), many of the pop icon's fans defended Taylor against PETA, saying that if zoos didn't exist, then nobody would care about conserving any animal species.
They argued that if people could see animals in person, then they would start caring about them, especially endangered species.
Meanwhile, others said that zoos are more practical since it is too expensive to build sanctuaries, such as the Safari and other natural parks.
On the other hand, lots of netizens also criticized Taylor and Travis, saying that they're some of the most influential celebrities and, that they should start stepping up for wild animals who are in captivity.
"The idea that your millions of followers will now want to feed a captive wild animal is absolutely terrifying. PLEASE SPEAK UP!" said animal advocate Amy Squires.
