Sydney Sweeney Shares Rare Update on 'Anyone But You' Sequel With Glen Powell

Sweeney is gearing up to make her SNL Live hosting debut this weekend.

Sydney Sweeney teased her rom-com fans with exciting news during her appearance on Tuesday's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' in which she revealed that there might be a sequel to 'Anyone But You' with Glen Powell.

'The Madame Web' actress said on the show that she and Powell received massive support and different fan reactions to her raunchy comedy movie.

Sweeney Teases' Anyone But You' Sequel

Sweeney, who played Bea in the film, told Fallon there is "maybe like a high nine chance" that the movie will have a part two.

Fallon was thrilled by the surprise response, and the audience erupted in cheers when they realized that the movie would probably have a sequel after its box-office success.

"Oh really? That's what I'm talking about!" Fallon said excitedly. "I can't wait to see it."

"I'm just so thankful that everybody's loving it," the 'Euphoria' actress said.

Sweeney was grateful that people loved their movie when it hit the theaters in December and made $230 million worldwide. She said it was so successful that Sony Pictures decided to re-release an extended air time to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Now, she is thrilled to be taking center stage in Studio 8H as she prepares to host her first episode of 'Saturday Night Live' this coming weekend. Her episode of SNL will air on March 2 at 11:30 pm and will feature Kacey Musgraves as the musical guest.

According to ET, the movie's plot started when Ben and Bea, who are "college arch-nemeses" reunited years after graduation for their friend's wedding. The two pretended to be a couple for personal reasons. However, while acting, they fell in love with each other.

Powell told Variety that he is ready to work with Sweeney on a follow-up movie. He shared that Sweeney is easy to work with and fun, and they were trying to find the next thing. He joked to send them all the scripts they got.

Sweeney, Powell Reveal Relationship With Co-Stars

Back in December, Sweeney told ET about working on 'Anyone But You' and how she grew close to her co-stars throughout the shoot.

"Glen and I would just look at each other, and we would just burst into laughter. Or we wouldn't even be looking at each other, we could just feel that and just laugh. It was amazing," she said. Sweeney added that she felt love from everyone and noted that the whole cast would be her family forever.

Powell agreed and told ET that they really had the best time together, and that's what rom-coms are about. He said that it is someone who does not take themselves too seriously.
