The stars came out in Los Angeles Sunday for the 96th Academy Awards, set to be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
This year's ceremony promises to be exciting with blockbusters "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" competing against acclaimed foreign language films "Past Lives," "Anatomy of a Fall" and "The Zone of Interest."
Viewers can also expect performances from stars ranging from Billie Eilish to Ryan Gosling, plus the return of host Jimmy Kimmel. The most nominated film is "Oppenheimer" with 13 nods, followed by "Poor Things" with 11 nominations.
Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" has the chance to make history in multiple categories. Lily Gladstone is the first Native American nominated in any acting category and Robbie Robertson posthumously became the first Indigenous composer nominated for Best Original Score.
In recent years, the Oscars' live broadcast has given viewers many memorable moments - most notably 2016's envelope snafu, resulting in "La La Land's" brief, erroneous Best Picture win, and the 2022 incident where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage.
Where Can I Watch the Oscars?
The Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC at 7 p.m. EST, with pre-show Red Carpet coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. Viewers will also be able to stream the ceremony via ABC.com, the ABC app, Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and FuboTV.
Which Stars Will Be Onstage?
The Academy has announced an array of musicians, actors and directors who are expected to perform or present awards.
Notably, the ceremony will bring back a popular formatting choice, with five acting winners from previous years introducing this year's acting nominees. Last year's winners Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis have all been announced as presenters, along with Hollywood heavyweights like Al Pacino, Sally Field and Rita Moreno.
Pop stars Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Becky G and Jon Batiste are slated to perform nominated songs. Ryan Gosling is expected to appear on stage with songwriter Mark Ronson and a group of male dancers to perform "I'm Just Ken" from "Barbie." Osage composer Scott Geroge will perform "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" from "Killers of the Flower Moon."
