Ubisoft has confirmed the official release date for "Watch Dogs" seven months after the announcement of its delay.
Gamers can get their hands on "Watch Dogs" on May 27 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
"We're back online," Michael Madavi, Content Marketing Manager for Ubisoft, wrote in a blog post for Sony. "Watch_Dogs resumed communications with an all-new story trailer featuring our protagonist, Aiden Pearce, and our launch date!
Over the last few months, our development team has been working non-stop to fully realize their ambition and polish the Watch_Dogs experience to live up to gamers' high expectations. We've been absolutely itching to show you more, and we're finally ready to do just that."
"Watch Dogs" follows the story of Aiden Pearce, a hacker from Chicago turned vigilante after he stumbles across information he wasn't meant to see, which brings death to his loved ones.
"Aiden is hell-bent to exact his revenge on those who wronged him, and he's using every tool at his disposal," Madavi wrote. "The world he lives in is hyper-connected, with all elements of infrastructure under the surveillance and control of an omnipresent digital system - the Central Operating System (ctOS) - that Aiden has learned to manipulate at his will."
The hacker can control most of the Chicago through his smartphone, but teams up with fellow hackers Clara and T-Bone on his quest for justice. Together, the three go "up against powerful moguls, ruthless crime lords, crooked cops, and other clandestine hacker," according to Madavi.
