A Texas high school teacher faces charges for allegedly preying on "troubled" teenagers to recruit them for prostitution, according to authorities.

Keidra Grigsby, 42, was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of trafficking and three counts of compelling prostitution of juveniles, the Harris County Sheriff's Department said.

"It appears Grigsby recruited troubled juveniles from local high schools by offering them a place to stay, which would be a hotel," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a statement on Facebook.

"Additional teen victims have come forward stating that Grigsby was also attempting to recruit them while attending school," he said.

The three students were 15, 16 and 17, and reported runaways, Gonzalez said.

Officials believe Grigsby, a teacher in Klein, Texas, helped her son, Roger Magee, 21, who was arrested last November for trafficking of children and compelling prostitution.

Magee is being held in the Harris County Jail, as is Grigsby.
