Ohio 'Alpha Parent' Confessed to Killing Her 5-Year-Old Son For Sneaking Candy In Bed: Police

Darnell Taylor's body was found in a sewage drain

An Ohio mother reportedly admitted to suffocating her 5-year-old stepson and dumping his body in a "manhole" because she caught him sneaking candy into bed, according to a report.

Darnell Taylor, 5, was the subject of an Amber Alert in February, when the Columbus Division of Police said Pammy Maye, 48, woke up her husband in the early morning on Valentine's Day and made statements that made him believe that their foster child had been hurt.

He said she then abruptly left and drove off in her Jeep Cherokee.

The vehicle was found abandoned in Brooklyn, Ohio after a few hours.

Maye turned up barefoot and distraught outside a business the following night. Her son was not with her.

She was taken to a hospital and police interviewed her while wearing body cameras, which recorded her alleged confesssion to killing her son.

In the video, Maye describes herself as the disciplinarian parent between her and her husband, and reportedly said she "premeditated" the killing.

"[Darnell] was intimidated by me a lot of times because I was that alpha parent instead of my husband," she said in the confession obtained by WBNS-TV.

Darnell's body was found later in the day in a sewage drain.

Maye has pleaded not guilty and plans an insanity defense, according to Law&Crime.
