Prince Harry has publicly renounced his British residency in paperwork and listed the United States as his primary residence for the first time since severing his ties to the royal family in 2020.
The Duke of Sussex changed his place of abode in updated documents submitted to Companies House, as needed for his nonprofit organization Travalyst, which promotes ecotourism.
According to documents obatined by the Daily Mail, he declared that his "new country/state" was now the "US." Harry listed the UK as his original residence when he founded the organization in 2019.
In 2020, Harry and his spouse, 42-year-old Meghan Markle, moved to Montecito, California, along with their children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, in a move known as "Megxit."
The late queen gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Frogmore Cottage as a wedding present, but they were eventually forced to leave it due to squabblings amongst the Royal Family.
When they eventually moved out of the UK in 2023, the couple were no longer officially residents. They now have to stay in hotels or with friends when they travel to the UK.
In a 2022 interview with 'Today,' Harry said, "Home for me, now, for the time being, is in the states. And it really feels that way, as well. We've been welcomed with open arms and have got such a great community up in Santa Barbara."
On Wednesday, Harry participated in the meeting virtually from his Montecito residence, Yahoo reported.
