A Chicago woman has been convicted of killing and dismembering her landlord, despite maintaining that she was framed in the horrific killing, according to a report.
A jury has convicted Sandra Kolalou of the 2022 killing Frances Walker. The 69-year-old's head, arms and legs were found in a kitchen freezer in the home they shared, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Her torso was never found.
Prosecutors said the killing came after Walker served Kolalou with an eviction notice.
Walker's relatives had to endure prosecutors showing photos of her head and other body parts multiple times during the trial.
They reacted to the guilty verdict.
"I believe justice was done, and I'm glad society will be a little bit safer without this person out there," Walker's younger brother Arnold Walker said after the verdict.
Walker played the piano for her local church and was well-liked in the neighborhood where she lived for many years.
"It's almost unbelievable that someone would hurt her in this way. She was too kind. All I can say is that she was very nice. She never stopped loving. She was overjoyed. Lukey, her dog, was always by her side," neighbor Cecilia Soto said at the time of the killing.
Kolalou continues to claim she is innocent and claims she was framed. Her lawyers plan to appeal the verdict.
