Fans of the Amazon Prime series "Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power" will soon have news about their favorite characters, with a trailer for season two set to drop tomorrow.
Official social media accounts for the popular fantasy series announced the trailer's premiere on Monday morning, a year and a half after the first season concluded. The new trailer is expected to be shared with viewers on social media.
The television series is set thousands of years before the events of "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The show's plot revolves around the forging of the rings that served as the centerpiece in J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy saga.
The first two episodes of the show's first season premiered on September 1, 2022, followed by six more episodes which aired weekly. It is the most-watched Amazon Prime series and received acclaim from critics. More than a dozen original cast members returned to film the second season, which completed filming in June 2023.
The premiere date for the new season has yet to be announced, but it could be revealed in the new trailer.
