
Amazon Prime Video made a huge splash on Tuesday morning, releasing a frenzy of posts confirming release dates, castings, and teaser trailers for a wide variety of popular and highly-anticipated movies and TV shows.
After teasing it's release on Monday, Amazon posted the new teaser trailer for the second season of "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," and confirmed it's August 29 release date.

Amazon shared a new trailer for the upcoming comedy movie "You're Cordially Invited," starring Reese Witherspoon and Will Farrell, and confirmed a January 30 release date.

Amazon also dropped teasers for season 2 of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and season 5 of The Boys, but stopped short of announcing official release dates.

Additionally, Amazon announced a list of projects that have been ordered and will soon go into development. Jake Gyllenhal will reprise his role as Elwood Dalton in a sequel to Amazon's "Roadhouse" remake. A filming or release date was not provided. Amazon also confirmed that Nicholas Cage will reprise his role from the "Spiderverse" films, playing "Spider-Man Noir" in a live action mini series ordered by Amazon and MGM+.

Amazon also teased that a new "Alex Cross" series is on the way, dropping a teaser trailer starring Aldis Hodge.

Prime Video's X account also reposted an announcement from MGM Studios, confirming plans to expand the "Tomb Raider" universe and announcing Pheobe Waller-Bridge (Indiana Jones 5, Fleabag) as writer and executive producer.
In the world of live entertaiment, Amazon announced that the first NFL Thursday Night live stream of the 2024 season will be on September 12, featuring the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. Additonally, Amazon set a date for the first NASCAR race to be streamed on their platform, which will be on Memorial Day Weekend, 2025.
Amazon isn't the only streaming platform that made waves on Tuesday.
Max shared a new trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of "House of the Dragon", a prequel series to the massively successful "Game of Thrones" series, set to begin airing on June 16.
