Colorado Golfer Discovers Human Bone on Sixth Hole, Sparking Homicide Investigation

Police confirmed the incident was being treated as a homicide 'until or unless our investigation reveals otherwise'

Colorado homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death following a golfer's discovery of a possible human bone earlier this week.

The bone was found near the sixth hole at the Patty Jewett Golf Course in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Tuesday, police reported.

Police officials confirmed the incident was being treated as a homicide "until or unless our investigation reveals otherwise,"KKTV-TV reported.

The identity of the golfer who phoned in the macabre discovery was not disclosed.

The remains were transferred to the El Paso County Coroner's Office where testing is expected to take several weeks, according to KOAA-TV.
