Police have arrested two teens for a horrific acid attack on a 17-year-old teen in Wichita.
City police confirmed that two 18-year-olds were taken into custody on Wednesday. They are still looking for a 16-year-old girl in connection with the attack.
Sedgwick County Jail records showed Ye'Kira Hollins and Tayronnia West were charged with aggravated battery, according to KAKE-TV.
Passion Turner, had acid thrown on her face during a violent confrontation in front of a friend's house on May 26.
Turner suffered from second-degree burns to her face and neck.
"As the Chief of Police, I want to make it unequivocally clear that our department has a zero-tolerance policy towards violence of any kind within our community," stated Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan.
While Turner is expected to be released from the hospital soon, her sister says she still has a long road ahead to recovery.
She set up a GoFundMe to raise money for Passion. She says the family has insurance but it won't pay for the cosmetic surgeries that she will need. They also want to move away from Wichita.
"This is a devastating time and we are asking for help. Anything will help!" she wrote. "Please keep her and out family in your prayers."
