Reward increased in Fla. slayings

The Broward Sheriff’s Office doubled the reward to $20,000 for information about the fatal shooting of Beatrice Saintvil and her daughter, Janelle Souffrant, on the Florida Turnpike last Friday.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office increased the reward to $10,000 for information about the fatal shooting of a woman and her 4-year-old daughter last week on a Florida highway. 

Beatrice Saintvil, 27, and her daughter, Janelle Souffrant, were found inside a car stopped on the shoulder on the Florida Turnpike near Hollywood last Friday night, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Janelle was pronounced dead at the scene; Saintvil died at a local hospital.

According to a 911 call released Tuesday, a man came upon the scene and tried to help the mom and daughter.

"Hello! I'm on the - hello," the caller said, WSVN reported.

"Hello, sir," the 911 operator said.

"Get up! Get up! (Unintelligible) gonna be OK," the caller responded.

"Sir, are you northbound or southbound?" the 911 operator asked.

"I'm, I'm, I'm going toward Orlando. Get up, please! Get up! Get up, please! Where's the baby, where's the baby," the caller said.

"OK, sir, tell me what happened," the operator said.

"I don't know (Unintelligible) I just came here and see her and the baby in the car, please - (Unintelligible). Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God," the man said.

It was the only call received about the shooting.
