Glass Mugs Cutting and Burning Users Sparks Major Product Recall

MM Products is recalling more than half a million JoyJolt Drinkware glass coffee mugs because they can break when filled with hot liquid, posing laceration and burn hazards, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall includes 580,000 JoyJolt Drinkware Declan Single-Wall Glass Coffee Mugs with model number JG10242. The 16-ounce mugs were sold in sets of six online at amazon.com and on MM Products Inc.'s website joyjolt.com from September 2019 through May 2022 for between $20 and $25.

There have been 103 reported incidents of the recalled glass mugs breaking at the base, with 56 injuries reported, including 35 burns across the body from spilled hot liquids, and 21 cuts. Seven of the incidents required medical attention including surgery and stitches.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mugs and contact MM Products for a full refund.
