The husband of a South Carolina woman killed by an alleged drunk driver on her wedding night last year will receive nearly $1 million in a settlement from the crash, according to a report.

Aric Hutchinson will get $863,300 in compensation after Judge Roger Young approved the settlements from Folly Beach bars The Drop In Bar & Deli, the Crack Shack and Snapper Jacks, as well as Progressive auto insurance and Enterprise Rent-a-Car, the Post and Courier reported.

Hutchinson sued the businesses after Jamie Komoroski allegedly drove a rented Toyota Camry into the rear of the newlyweds' golf cart carrying him and his bride, Samantha Miller, from their wedding reception in April 2023.

Komoroski allegedly slammed into the cart with the bride and groom and two family members at 65 mph on a 25 mph road, knocking the smaller vehicle 100 yards.

The 34-year-old Miller died at the scene still in her wedding dress.

Hutchinson was seriously injured.

HIs suit claimed that several bars served Komoroski large amounts of alcohol before she drove away in a drunken haze.

Komoroski was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death, reckless homicide and two counts of felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury. She is out on bond.
