A New York man has been indicted for allegedly tricking federal inmates and their families into paying him to provide legal services he wasn't authorized to provide because he isn't a lawyer.

A woman was arrested Saturday after authorities in Minnesota found a dead body in her car after an unrelated traffic accident.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 90 near the Highway 42 exit in Eyota at around 7 a.m. on Saturday. They arrived to find the driver, 32-year-old Margot Lewis, outside the vehicle being assisted by a passerby.

While checking to see if anyone else was in the vehicle, deputies found the body of a woman in the backseat. The sheriff's office said the condition of the body was "suspicious," and it was "immediately apparent that the death was not a result of the motor vehicle accident."

Lewis was transported by Eyota Ambulance Service to the hospital. After she was medically cleared, she was arrested and transported to the Adult Detention Center on a charge of interference with a dead body.

The deceased woman was identified Tuesday as 35-year-old Liara Tsai of Minneapolis. Authorities did not release details on the cause or manner of Tsai's death. The investigation is ongoing.

"Olmsted County Sheriff's Office extends sincere condolences to the friends and family of the deceased," the sheriff's office said.
