11-year-old Madalina Cojocari has been missing since she was seen getting off of a school bus in North Carolina on November 21, 2022.

The Cornelius Police Department is now calling her mother, Diana Cojocari, a prime suspect in her disappearance.

The young girl was missing for 23 days before Cojocari contacted authorities.

Cojocari was already sentenced to 6 to 17 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges in connection with failing to report Madalina's disappearance.

She was immediately released due to time already served.

Madalina's stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, was found guilty of failing to report the disappearance of his stepdaughter. It only took the jury 14 minutes to reach a verdict, according to WTVD-TV.

Madalina Cojocari is still missing.

Law enforcement states their main priority is finding Madalina and encourages citizens to continue sharing the 11-year-old's picture on social media while detectives continue to search for her.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cornelius Police Department.
