According to MINBCnews.com, filming for the 2016 movie "Man of Steel 2" (aka "Batman Vs. Superman") has begun in Metamora Township, Michigan. Residents who live close to the filming location, a former Girls Scout camp, told the news that over the weekend that filming started on Caley Road.
Several days ago, residents received a letter from the same production company that's behind Zack Snyder's superhero movie. According to MINBC, residents said this is the first time they have seen activity at the camp since it closed in 2006.
Starting in October, they said construction on the abandoned camp started and then security crews arrived.
"My son actually moved to LA to be in the movies but here it is right across the street from us they are filming a movie," resident Ted Rickabus said. "To be this close we can literally walk there in about two minutes."
Ever since receiving the letter, Rickabus said he has watched as crews set up for what the letter said would be a "temporary project."
"It [the letter] came from one of the guys who is running the show," Rickabus said, MINBC reports. "Here it is right across the street from us they are filming the movie."
Residents have not confirmed whether any of the main characters like Henry Cavill (Superman) or Ben Affleck (Batman) were present at the location.
In other news, TheWrap caught up with costume designer Michael Wilkinson during the pre-Academy Awards festivities recently. Wilkinson is responsible for creating the costumes for superheroes in "Man of Steel 2."
He told TheWrap that the first costume he worked on was Affleck's new Batsuit.
"I'm designing the new Wonder Woman costume," he added. I'm tweaking the Superman suit, so yeah; I'm glad [to hear] good buzz about it."
According to Forbes film blogger, Mark Hughes, the Batsuit reveal should be happening soon. After a few delays, Hughes tweeted that the big reveal would happen in March but his sources said Warner Bros. decided to push it back again.
The blogger didn't reveal when fans could expect to see the suit, but on Mar. 9 he posted on Twitter that fans "don't have long to wait before the studio officially release the images."
