Georgia police shot down rumors of human trafficking after a driver spotted eight people in the back of a moving truck driving down an Atlanta highway.

Langston Proper called police and captured the now-viral video of Gwinnett County officers pulling over the truck Friday.

The footage, which Proper posted on Facebook shortly after, was accompanied by a caption, stating he saved people "from being trafficked off."

In the video, several people are seen stuffed in the rear of the moving truck amid what seems to be furniture and boxes. Multiple police vehicles are captured responding to the chaotic scene.

Nearly a week later, the clip has since been widely circulated on social media, prompting police to address the incident, debunking rumors of criminalistic activity.

"The occupants all told officers that they were traveling from Alabama to Maryland for a new job opportunity," police said in a statement, in part, according to Newsweek. "The truck also included their personal belongings."

"There is no evidence at this time of human trafficking," police clarified, noting the individuals were from two families.

The driver was given a citation for allowing the passengers to ride in the back of the vehicle without a seatbelt and they were transported to a local business to find an alternate means of transportation, police said.
