Dramatic dash cam footage captured the moment a carjacker dumped a toddler girl in her car seat on the side of a busy Florida road and fled through traffic.
Detectives are searching for an unidentified male suspect who hopped into the driver's seat of the victim's car while she stepped out to exchange information with another driver she had just gotten into a car accident with Wednesday morning on an Oakland Park, Florida, road, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was briefly dragged as she tried to hold onto the driver-side door in an attempt to thwart the suspect as he drove off with her 3-year-old daughter still inside the vehicle.
Moments later, dash cam footage from another driver captured the instant the suspect pulled over to the side of the road and dumped the little girl still in her car seat onto the sidewalk beneath an overpass, before speeding away. Two men are then seen coming to the child's rescue.
In subsequent surveillance footage, the suspect was also seen ditching the car and using the victim's credit card at a Family Dollar, according to authorities.
A $5,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspect wanted on charges of carjacking and kidnapping.
