President Joe Biden is weighing pulling out of the 2024 race following last week's devastating debate performance against Donald Trump, a key ally claims.

"He knows if he has two more events like that, we're in a different place" by the end of the weekend, the ally who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, according to The New York Times.

Subsequently, spokesperson Andrew Bates denied the claims, describing them as "absolutely false," alleging the White House was not given sufficient time to respond to the report.

Another source, identified only as a top adviser to Biden, said the 81-year-old president is "well aware of the political challenge he faces" after his crippling showing in Atlanta Thursday, the outlet reported.

Concerns surrounding Biden's ability to defeat Trump, coupled with his age, health and capacity to carry out the presidential duties for another term have grown louder.

On Tuesday, Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas and Representative Jared Golden of Maine became the first members of the party in Congress to suggest Biden drop out of the race.

Dozens more are expected to break from Biden in the coming days, according to one report.

In his first rally following his face-off with Trump, Biden addressed the crowd in Raleigh, N.C., with honesty and optimism.

"I don't speak as well as I used to. I don't debate as well as I used to," he admitted. "But I do know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong and I know how to do this job."

He added, "When you get knocked down you get back up."
