An incoherent man in Pittsburgh was found dead with a carload of guns and an extremely concerning note following an hours-long manhunt organized by dozens of law enforcement agencies.

Cranberry Township Police were alerted to the situation when they received a call from employees of Cranberry Highlands Golf Course who encountered the man and told them that his "car was disabled."

"He wasn't speaking coherently. These employees recognized that there were weapons inside the vehicle at the time, specifically seeing long guns. And there was a weapon described to us as an AR-style long gun that was in the vehicle," said Cranberry Township Police Chief Kevin Meyer.

Upon racing to the scene, officers were unable to locate him; however, their concerns were heightened by what they found inside the car.

Evidence indicated that the man was not mentally stable and could possibly do harm to himself or others.

"The weapons that were there and the concerning notes, handwritten notes, that were found on his documents inside of that vehicle. They were extremely concerning. And that was why we had such a significant police and law enforcement response there to this event," added Meyer.

Law enforcement eventually located the individual in a wooded area along Freshcorn Road.

The suspect is dead, but details of how and when have not yet been made public, according to Pittsburgh's Action News 4.

During the news briefing, the chief only revealed that the man was no longer a threat to the community.

Meyers confirmed to the news outlet that the notes in the man's car referenced UPMC in some way.

"I didn't see the note, but from what I've been told it would, it had to do with the physical security of a UPMC facility. I don't know which facility. I don't know where it was in specific," he explained.

"It just mentioned UPMC."

The investigation is ongoing.
