Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Heart announced the postponement of its North American tour following lead singer Ann Wilson's cancer diagnosis.

Wilson, 74, confirmed the news in a statement to fans Tuesday, explaining she underwent an operation "to remove something, that as it turns out, was cancerous."

"The operation was successful & I'm feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I've decided to do it," she wrote.

"To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs," explained Wilson, verifying her plans to take the rest of the year off, while promising to reschedule their performances and "absolutely... be back on stage in 2025."

"Thank you all for the support. This is merely a pause. I've much more to sing," she ended the statement, adding, "Respectfully, this is the last public statement I'd like to make on the matter."

Wilson did not specify what type of cancer she was battling.

Heart's Royal Flush tour was set to kick off Aug. 1 in Ottawa, Ontario, with several stops across the U.S., including Los Angeles and New York.

The classic rock band first rose to fame in the 70s with hits "Crazy on You" and "Barracuda."

They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
