Vice President Kamala Harris' husband has tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms, but she tested negative and is symptom-free, according to a report Sunday.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff's office said was he was tested Saturday after feeling ill, CNN reported.

The couple joined President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on a White House balcony for Thursday's Fourth of July celebration in the nation's capital, but it's unclear if the Bidens have been tested, CNN said.

Last week, Joe Biden blamed his disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump on "feeling terrible" because he was suffering from a cold.

"The docs with me, I asked if they did a COVID test because we were trying to figure out what was wrong," Biden said in an ABC News interview broadcast Friday. "They did a test to see whether or not I had some infection, you know, a virus. I didn't. They just said I had a really bad cold."

Emhoff's infection marks at least the second time he has contracted COVID-19.

He tested positive in March 2022 and Harris tested positive the following month but never experienced any symptoms, according to CNN.
