A CEO from Utah was killed alongside his daughter in a freak accident after a bulldozer fell off of a tow truck, crushing both of them to death.

Richard David Hendrickson and his daughter Sally were traveling up to Ogden Canyon in eastern Weber County, Utah, as a tow truck carrying the bulldozer came from the opposite direction along a narrow road when it fell over onto its side, colliding directly onto Hendrickson's SUV.

"As the truck was rounding a curve, the bulldozer dislodged from the tow truck," explained Trooper Heywood of the Utah Highway Patrol.

His wife and two of the couple's other children reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the accident.

Hendrickson's company, Lifetime Products, released a statement on Monday, saying:

"It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our CEO and President, Richard David Hendrickson."

One of Hendrickson's other daughters was traveling overseas and was not present at the time of the accident, according to The Daily Mail.

Barry Mower, founder of Lifetime Products, described Hendrickson as starting as a welder before he progressed through multiple levels of the company, ultimately becoming President and CEO due to his "extraordinary talents and abilities."

"He was one of my most trusted and cherished friends and will be sorely missed. Lifetime will not be the same without him. My love and heartfelt sympathy go out to his dear family."

Following the tragic deaths, a petition has been launched to limit the type of vehicles that are allowed along the narrow road.
