The body found in the search for a missing British teen who vanished last month after attending a massive rave likely belongs to Jay Slater, said authorities.

Slater, 19, of Lancashire, England, disappeared on the Spanish island of Tenerife, where he was visiting to attend the NRG music festival.

"After 29 days of constant search the lifeless body of a young man has been found in the Masca area" in the Tenerife mountains, Spanish law enforcement, the Guardia Civil, announced Monday, according to CNN.

"All indications are that it could be the young British man missing since June 17, pending full identification," said authorities.

Slater last spoke with his friend, Lucy Mae, the day he vanished.

"I woke up to a phone call off Jay at 8:30 AM saying 'he was lost in the mountains, he wasn't aware of his surroundings, he desperately needed a drink & his phone was on 1%,'" Lucy wrote, according to a GoFundMe aimed at raising money to aid in his search. "He had met 2 people on Sunday night and left with them to go to their apartment" in a "very secluded location," she added.

Slater reportedly embarked on a 10-hour walk back to his hotel when he lost all communication.

LBT Global, a nonprofit that supports British nationals in crisis, confirmed the discovery of a body in Tenerife, "does look to be that of Jay Slater. It is understood the body was found close to the site of his mobile phone's last location."

"Although formal identification is yet to be carried out, the body was found with Mr Slater's possessions and clothes."

"A post mortem and forensic enquiries will follow," the Facebook post continued.

"LBT Global are supporting the family at this distressing time and ask for everyone to afford them space and privacy to come to terms with the news."
