Following her disastrous performance of the national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby, country singer Ingrid Andress is revealing the real issue behind the now-viral frenzy.

Breaking her silence on Tuesday, Andress, 32, admitted she was drunk while performing at the derby and announced plans to check into a rehab facility, reported The Daily Mail.

Posting to social media, the singer wrote, "I'm not gonna bulls**t y'all; I was drunk last night."

"I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to the MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let y'all know how rehab is. I hear it's super fun," she added.

Fellow musicians came to support her in the comments section, including Julia Michaels, who wrote, "Love you girl. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I'm sorry the world can be so cruel. Here for you xx."

Carly Pearce also sent Andress well wishes and admired her raw honesty in all this: "I'm sending you love, Ingrid. Being this open takes a lot. You've got this. Hang in there."

Andress is a four-time Grammy-nominated artist, and since the unfortunate incident on Monday, she's been relentlessly compared to Fergie, who also went viral for her poor performance of the national anthem at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.

Users on X were not so kind, offering their opinions on the whole ordeal.

"Ingrid Andress giving Fergie a run for worst national anthem ever performed," one person wrote.

"My ears are bleeding. One of the worst national anthem renditions ever," another shared. Despite the negative reception, the singer was still met with a round of applause when she finished.
