An out-of-state police officer fatally shot a person outside the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Tuesday.
The Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9 confirmed members of the Columbus Division of Police in Ohio were involved in the shooting.
Columbus police officers, as well as several officers from around the country, are at the RNC to support local police with security for the four-day event.
Hundreds of thousands of Republicans are reportedly in town for the convention.
It's unclear if the shooting is connected to the event.
No officers were injured.
The incident comes days after former President Donald Trump was grazed by a bullet during a deadly attack at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Trump, 78, appeared at the RNC Monday night in his first public appearance since what authorities are investigating as an attempted assassination that left the shooter and another attendee dead.
