A 17-year-old British girl apparently suffered a fatal MDMA overdose at an electronic dance music concert where 21 other teens had to be hospitalized and a suspected drug dealer was arrested, according to a report Tuesday.
One unidentified person has been in a medically induced coma since the June 29 "drum and bass" rave at the Dreamland Margate amusement park in southeast England, Sky News said.
Emily Stokes died around 6 p.m. that day after being transported to a local hospital, the BBC reported earlier this month.
In a post on the GoFundMe website, Stokes' older sister said her death was the result of her drink "being spiked."
"Emily was the kindest person you could ever meet she was so full of life and to have her taken away so suddenly at just only 17 years old it has completely broke me," Megan Stokes wrote.
The multiple overdoses at the concert were revealed in a police application to review the operating license for the venue, Sky News said.
Authorities reportedly said they're not seeking to revoke the permit and were "confident in working with Dreamland prior to any review hearing."
In a statement issued shortly after Stokes' death, Dreamland said it "will continue to work closely with Kent Police where relevant as they investigate this tragedy further," according to the BBC.
Police officers learned about three suspected overdoses during the early afternoon and declared the situation a "major incident" after the number climbed to 11 but they didn't shut down the concert to avoid a "potential large-scale public order incident," Sky News said.
"Allowing the event to continue would assist in the identification/support of any further casualties who could be treated accordingly," police reportedly wrote. "This was a challenging decision but allowed mitigating factors to be implemented to minimise the risk towards already vulnerable children at the event."
An unidentified man was allegedly caught carrying illegal drugs was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply around 5 p.m., Sky News said.
It's unclear if the case against him was upgraded following Emily Stokes' death.
The concert was reportedly produced by Worried About Henry, which holds raves across the U.K. and on the Mediterranean resort island of Ibiza, Spain, according to its website.
