A Tennessee mom was allegedly driven to drown her daughter in a creek because she had a "rough day" and "wanted time alone," said police.
Brandi Elliott, 33, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 7-year-old Piper Elliott Saturday in a Hendersonville, Tennessee creek, said authorities.
Elliott allegedly told investigators she was having a "rough day" and "wanted time alone," so she went outside, only for her daughter to follow, court documents read, WTVF-TV reported.
Piper would not "give her what she wanted," so she took her daughter across the street to a creek and held her underwater "like a largemouth bass" until she felt her "bubbling," Elliott allegedly confessed to detectives.
Elliott scolded Piper to "be quiet" as she carried out the alleged slaying, according to the documents, WKRN-TV reported.
Afterward, Elliott told investigators she realized she had done something wrong and tried to revive her daughter. Piper was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
"She loved [her daughter] more than anything in the world and she was her everything," Elliott's coworker, Jasmine Emery, told the station. "It's crazy to think that [she] is gone now."
According to a GoFundMe, Piper's dad, Jon Elliott, is a military veteran who was "injured in combat" and had been hospitalized in the ICU for the past week.
"His wife and daughter seen him yesterday and Piper brought her daddy a bunch of coloring book pictures she colored for him to hang up on the wall of his hospital room, a couple of hours later, she was killed," the description read.
Elliott is due in court Friday for a bond hearing. It's unclear if she entered a plea to the charge.
