There are only three episodes left in Season 4 of AMC' s "The Walking Dead," which starts this Sunday (Mar. 16) with episode 14 titled "The Grove." Recently executive producer Robert Kirkman dished about the episode, telling Entertainment Weekly that zombie fans won't want to miss it.
"It's definitely one that people are going to remember and it's definitely one people are going to talk about," Kirkman said.
"If there is one episode of 'The Walking Dead' that you absolutely had to watch this season, it would be this one," he added to E! News. "You kind of have to watch all of them, but it's going to be a big episode. We're going to catch a lot of people off guard."
Kirkman isn't the only one who loves the episode. Both Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) said they were shocked about what's going to happen. A few months ago, Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly that there would be some "crazy s**t" happening in an upcoming episode. Kirkman confirmed to EW that Lincoln's comments were referring to "The Grove."
"There's a couple times where I went to [showrunner] Scott Gimple and asked 'Are we gonna do this? We're really going to do this?'" Lincoln said. "And Scott said, 'Yep, we're gonna do this!' But I do think there's more poetry in this back eight than we've had in a while."
Cohan told the magazine a few weeks ago that the episode was among her favorites and fans were in for a surprise.
"We have another great episode with Chad, who plays Tyreese, and Carol and the kids and stuff," she said. "One of my favorites of the season is coming up. I'm so in anticipation of that 'cause you have to wait to see these characters."
The promos that have been released have definitely teased at darker and scarier times for the small group. In the clips we've seen: Tyreese telling Carol how "haunted" the world is now, Mika screaming and Carol sobbing, someone reaching for a gun, what looks like Mika falling and being attacked by a walker, Tyreese and Lizzie playing "I Spy" until he spies a zombie, and a little girl (Lizzie?) playing tag with a walker.
