Actress Cristin Miloti is horrified that fans of "How I Met Your Mother" thinks The Mother will die during the series finale. The 28-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter that she thought the rumors that her character will die is "insane" and described the finale as "beautiful."
"That's insane," she said. "There are some crazy conspiracy theories, which really makes me love the fans more... That is so crazy."
"They've had this vision for nine years, and it's in great hands," she said of co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. "They know exactly what they want to do."
Of course Miloti could be debunking the rumor in an attempt to throw fans off. Viewers will have to wait until Mar. 31 to find out what exactly is going on with the Mother and why Ted is telling his love story. Recently some of the cast, including Alyson Hannigan ((Lily), Josh Radnor (Ted), Cobie Smulders (Robin), Cristin Miloti (The Mother) and via Skype Neil Patrick Harris (Barney), met up in Hollywood for the PaleyFest.
The group was celebrating their final season and answered some questions about the show but kept tight-lipped about whether the Mother is dead or alive. At the event, Miloti admitted that she had no idea the fans would be so interested in her character, the Inquistr reports.
"I don't think I fully understood the scope of it until I finished binge-watching all of the seasons," she said. "By then I'd already filmed three or four episodes. When I finally get to the episode where I [come on], it all set in, I'm like 'Oh God! This is a big deal.'"
Last month the cast teased fans about the ending after a table read. Both Radnor and Hannigan tweeted how the last episode made them cry.
"Read the HIMYM series finale script on the treadmill at the gym this morning. People probably thought that was sweat in my eyes. Suckers," Radnor tweeted.
"Umm. So this is how the last HIMYM Table Read went for me. #sorrytrees," Hannigan wrote including a picture of a box of Kleenex and balled-up tissues.
